Timeline : feature that will become trend
Apple has unveiled an auto-save system as part of its new operating system (OS) designed for the Macintosh. The Time Machine is a new feature in its forthcoming OS, called Leopard, and lets users set auto-saves to hard drive or to online servers.
Files and folders can be backed-up and it also lets users search for files overwritten or altered in the past.
Speaking at an event in San Francisco, CEO Steve Jobs said only 26% of people currently backed-up files.
A number of third-party firms currently sell auto-save programs, but Mr Jobs said that just four percent of users used them.
Time Machine will let users retrieve old data, such as photos or documents, simply by moving a slider back in time within programs such as iPhoto.
A recent survey in the UK revealed that one-third of digital camera users are not backing up their photographs.
And here is a feature that will become a trend,as apple has always been a trendsetter,...i personally feel this is a nice feature, taking backup is something users tend to forget as i always said "Backup is something u remember when u have lost something important."
